So yesterday I went into Gap. I don't like Gap, but I heard they were having a sale, so I figured, hey, staples! Well as expected there was zilch of interest, except a pretty great navy blazer which I scooped up. I'm pumped about it, and I won't get into the ordeal in which I should have gotten $10% off and didn't...but I will say, Get over yourself, Gap! You share a web site with Old Navy! And although some press said a while back that you have been turned over and revamped since Patrick Robinson started, I have yet to see this proven. I have respect for simplicity, but really. Who makes an entire brand based on boring clothes? Ask Michael Stars; it's not that great. Gap is like the really lame kid at school who thinks everyone actually likes them and wants to be them.
Boo. Anyway, tomorrow I plan on heading to Borders to stock up on magazines (ever since I started class I just haven't been informed!) and hopefully get some great pieces for when I go to New York next month! Yes, indeed, I am heading to Teen Vogue's Fashion University, or as I prefer to call it, Fashion Conference... a wonderful weekend of TVogue bloggers, The September Issue, and of course, keynote speaked Diane Von Furstenberg...!!!!! Ahh I die.

Time to Pretend
Sooo some thoughts for the day: my beloved Ralph Lauren Rugby line has ventured into enemy territory. I grieve for the new camo theme and just hope that it ends soon. Ralph, you know I love you, but I stand up for the fact that camo has never been a fashion statement.

Enough of that... whew.
So I happened to be browsing various stores online today and I noticed something mildly shocking. See for yourself:

Apparently everyone decided to get on the same African bandwagon. Of course I checked, and...
1) American Apparel (duh) $29, 2) Forever 21 $17.80, 3) Topshop $36
hmmmm... well clearly the F21 version is kinda trashy, but since American Apparel was the first to do this, as far as I know, I give them first place. I'm just confused as to how this happens. F21, sure, but AA and topshop competing? And topshop's version seems worse? These are strange times we live in...

They Call Me Hell
xoxo
So I have this unhealthy obsession with, among other things of course, Marchesa. I WILL have my wedding dress from them. Too brilliant, I can't even explain. They have never disappointed me, unlike Versace this season with the Kate Moss ads, you know, that ridiculous cutout, 3D, black heart nonsense dress. It sincerely looks like someone's 5-year-old went at it with scissors and glue. And I don't mean one of those 5-year-olds that are prodigies. Anyway, the Fall 2009 Marchesa line is of course outstanding and these are some of my favorites:

All the pictures are from style.com though Marchesa has possibly better ones on their website (but those don't drag and drop into my Mac desktop..am I doing this whole blogging thing wrong??). I love love the first 2 because you could really wear those to a party and just OWN. I so wish that I could wear something like that to my charity benefit ball next year. ahh! Then I really get a vibe from the purple one..very "Natalie Portman pink Rodarte at the Oscars" but with a little more draping and less structure? hmm tough call. But for the first time EVER i actually like the fading of the dress. I am usually very against the use of color fading in clothing. very. Or is it just the light? Either way, it works. And the black ones...man, do you see why they will make my dream wedding dress? sigh.

Showing Off
So I am sooo proud of my magazine staff that I want to show them off to you guys. SHEI is all student run, done on my spectac campus : ) As a freshman this year I was just lucky to get an article in the mag, and next year I'm planning on joining the Fashion Team. I'm sooo excited!! So here's the cover and some of the shoots we had this year; don't mind the bad photo quality; it's my poor photography skills (pictures of pictures..rough), definitely not theirs!
I hope you are left inspired in some way!

Hello World!
This is a big day. My first blogging experience! I've never done this before so I hope you'll all bear with me.. I'm not much for taking pictures of myself at this point, but I'll share what I love and we will just see what happens.
I've always found myself very torn between Urban Outfitters and J.Crew. It's an interesting crossroads, but it's me. Enjoy!
